# 345 Shaawitya Parrot in Keres
This is a big knife 11-1/4" long the blade is a very nice tri-flow obsidian, hand knapped with stone & bone tools. the handle is from a big elk shed found on the Acoma reservation and is the eyegaurd or " Browtine" of the elk. The hand painted design was inspired by my grandmothers acoma pottery designs. The parrot or " Sha'awitya " in Keres is known for its bright colorful plumage and Acoma people associate it with the rainbow and the rain and believe it will bring rain during the planting season.
the perfectly accented end caps are made of Orange Osage, Maple & Paduk hard woods.
Display stand is included.
